Two Toes Up for the Vibram Five Fingers! September found six explorers deep in the Quetico in Canada. The lakes, rivers, and portages laid out in a path to reach a single goal, escape from the ordinary. To add to the not so ordinary were the three pairs of Vibram Five Fingers on three pairs of feet. For those who have never canoe camped in areas requiring portages the idea of carrying a canoe and a pack sounds like a breeze, it’s not. Sticks, stones, and slippery slopes prove a formidable challenge for even the stoutest of footwear. The Five Fingers proved a worthy adversary. However, their true calling was discovered on the water providing phalanges protection while in the canoes and scrambling on the shores. The siped soles gripped the slopes with ease and made the slippery rocks much safer to traverse. The protection afforded was ideal for the scrambling and the walks in the woods. All in all these three explorers give two toes up, three times over!
